Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your float therapy, contrast therapy or massage visit.

Float Therapy FAQs

What do I wear for float therapy?

For float therapy, most guests choose to float without clothing, as this is often the most comfortable way to enjoy the experience. You will always have complete privacy in your own float room.

What should I bring with me?

Please bring a towel with you for your session. If preferred, we can provide one for an additional £2 charge, as outlined on our booking page. We also provide vegan friendly toiletries for use in the shower, and you may wish to bring a hairbrush for after your visit.

How long should I allow for my visit?

Our float therapy sessions last 60 minutes in the pod itself. Please allow around 90 minutes in total for your visit to include time to get settled, shower before and after your session, and get ready afterwards.

Is float therapy suitable for first timers?

Yes. Many of our guests are completely new to float therapy. We will talk you through everything before your session so you feel comfortable and prepared.

What if I’m claustrophobic?

Many guests who feel unsure about enclosed spaces still find floating comfortable. Our float rooms are private and designed to feel calm and spacious, and you can keep the pod lid open if preferred.

Can I float if I have a medical condition?

If you have a medical condition that may affect your ability to float safely or comfortably — including epilepsy, heart conditions, asthma, skin conditions, allergies, very low blood pressure, or certain mental health conditions — we recommend seeking advice from a medical professional before booking.

Can I float if I’ve shaved recently, dyed my hair or applied false tan?

We recommend avoiding shaving or waxing shortly before your float, as salt water may irritate freshly shaved skin. Please also avoid floating with fresh hair dye, false tan, or very new tattoos, as these may affect the water and your session suitability.

Can I float during pregnancy?

Float therapy may be suitable earlier in pregnancy for some guests, but we do not facilitate floating beyond 35 weeks. If you are pregnant and unsure, please contact us before booking.

Contrast Therapy FAQs

What should I wear for contrast therapy?

Please wear suitable swimwear for your contrast therapy session. This allows you to move comfortably between the infrared sauna and ice bath.

How long does a contrast therapy session last?

Our contrast therapy sessions are 60 minutes, giving you time to move between heat and cold at a pace that feels manageable and effective.

Is contrast therapy suitable for first timers?

Yes. Many of our guests are completely new to contrast therapy. We will guide you through the experience so you feel comfortable and know what to expect.

Do I need to be an athlete to benefit from contrast therapy?

Not at all. Contrast therapy is popular with active guests, but it is also ideal for busy professionals, wellness seekers and anyone looking to feel refreshed, clear-headed and restored.

Can I move between the sauna and ice bath more than once?

Yes. During your session, you can move between the infrared sauna and ice bath at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Some guests prefer one round, while others enjoy repeating the contrast cycle several times.

Is contrast therapy safe if I have a medical condition?

If you have high or low blood pressure, heart disease, circulatory issues, respiratory conditions, diabetes, are pregnant, or have any other medical concerns, we strongly recommend seeking medical advice before booking.

Are there risks with the sauna or ice bath?

Yes. Contrast therapy involves exposure to heat and cold, which may affect circulation, breathing and blood pressure. Wet floors can also be slippery, so it is important to follow staff guidance and use the facilities carefully.

How hot is your infrared sauna and how cold is the ice bath?

Our infrared sauna does not go above 65°C, offering a more comfortable, penetrating warmth rather than the harsher air temperature of a traditional sauna. This gentler heat can help relax the body, support circulation and prepare you for the cold phase of your contrast therapy session.

Our ice bath is set to 7°C, creating a powerful contrast after the warmth of the infrared sauna. That shift from heat to cold is what makes contrast therapy feel so revitalising, leaving many guests feeling refreshed, awakened and rebalanced.

Massage FAQs

Which massage treatments do you offer?

We currently offer Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue and Indian Head massage with Jade, our massage therapist. More specialist treatments — including hot stone and pregnancy massage — are coming soon.

How much does a massage cost?

Indian Head massage is £55, Aromatherapy £65 and Deep Tissue £70.

How long is a massage session?

Treatments run 45 to 60 minutes depending on the massage you choose, and every session begins with a short consultation so Jade can tailor the pressure and focus to exactly what your body needs.

What do I wear for a massage?

You will undress to your comfort level and remain covered with towels throughout — only the area being worked on is ever exposed.

Is massage suitable if I’m pregnant or have an injury?

Often, yes — but please tell us when booking so Jade can adapt the treatment safely or recommend the right option for you. A dedicated pregnancy massage is coming soon.

How should I prepare for my massage?

Just arrive a few minutes early so you are not rushed, avoid a heavy meal beforehand, and let us know about any oil allergies or sensitivities when booking.

Can I buy a massage as a gift?

Yes — massage gift cards start from £55, valid for 12 months, and can be emailed instantly or printed beautifully.
